Sen. Rezin is hopeful that by the end of Illinois’ Senate session in May, a comprehensive bill that address online safety as well as social media and artificial intelligence will be voted on and passed, she said. From there, she said she wants to start applying pressure at the federal level.

Online Safety Bills Spread to Seven States
Republican and Democratic lawmakers in Illinois, Nebraska, New Mexico, Michigan, Minnesota, South Carolina, and Vermont have introduced or will introduce age-appropriate design codes, the Kids Code Coalition announced ahead of a Monday legislative committee hearing on the Nebraska bill (L.B. 504).
