The Nebraska Kids Code brings together parents, youth, medical professionals, partners organizations, and other experts to advocate for legislation to provide safety-by-design and privacy-by-default protections for kids and teens online.
Endorsed Legislation
Age-Appropriate Online Design Code Act (LB504)
Introduced by Senator Carolyn Bosn, the Nebraska Kids Code is age-appropriate design code legislation that would improve young people’s digital experiences by requiring tech companies to implement privacy-by-default and safety-by-design protections for kids online. This means not collecting or selling their data, setting high privacy standards by default, and avoiding manipulative design.
